2010 IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

SASKATOON AND REGINA, SK ? More than 400,000 tickets for all 33 games at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatoon and Regina will be available through Ticketmaster starting November 8 at 10 a.m. (CST), the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship host committee, along with Hockey Canada, announced on Tuesday.

?Few events generate Canadian pride like the World Juniors, and there?s nothing like watching it live,? said Jack Brodsky, president of the 2010 WJC host organizing committee. ?Planning is well underway for one of the world?s biggest sports events, and we?re confident it will be a tremendous success measured in many ways. Our committee is excited to offer a terrific choice in ticket packages.?

?Tickets for the World Juniors in Vancouver 2006 and Ottawa 2009 sold out one year in advance,? says Hugh Vassos, senior vice-president of business and marketing, 2010 WJC host organizing committee. ?That sets the bar high - and I know Saskatchewan residents will enjoy selling out our 2010 event in record time. We have excellent seats available at various price levels in Saskatoon and Regina, and an affordable payment plan that will appeal to many.?

Ten teams will compete in the event, with a Saskatoon pool and a Regina pool. More championship information is at www.hockeycanada.ca.

All tickets will be available through Ticketmaster, either at www.ticketmaster.ca, 1-800-970-SEAT, or any Ticketmaster outlet. Only full ticket packages are available. An affordable monthly payment plan is available offering ticket purchase through 12 monthly payments in 2009.

Saskatoon?s 21-game package includes round-robin games featuring Canada?s National Junior Team, the relegation round and all medal round games from $758 to $1178 per seat.

SASKATCHEWAN --- The 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship announced today that six communities throughout Saskatchewan will each host one pre-competition game prior to the championship round-robins in Regina and Saskatoon.

The communities of Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Unity, Prince Albert and Humboldt have been selected to play host to one pre-competition game each by the 2010 WJC. The announcement was made today at news conferences held in each of the six communities with representatives of the 2010 WJC on hand.

The dates for the pre-competition games in the six communities are tentatively set for between December 19 ? 23rd and will be finalized in the fall.
